Can I water my lawn the day you mow?

In most cases, our weekly lawn maintenance clients have set scheduled service days. We ask that you do not water your lawn on your scheduled service day. If for any reason this is a problem, please call our office to discuss.

What happens if my yard has debris and lawn items on mowing day?

We trim around trampolines, playhouses, and lawn furniture. We do not move large items and appreciate you defining a border around objects to prevent any accidents. Items must be picked up from your yard on your mow day. Items may include toys, dog bones, seasonal lawn decorations, and hoses. What else can I do to make sure my property will not be damaged?

At R&S Landscaping, we try and take the utmost care with your property and items in your lawn. However, with some things it is not possible to completely avoid hitting them. The company I used last year kept hitting the bases of the trees with their weed trimmers as well as broke a few of my landscape lights. What would YOU do to avoid the same issues?

First of all, at R&S Landscaping we like to suggest placing a small mulch bed around the base of any tree, and especially small trees and saplings , as they have a long way to go before they are strong enough to withstand any abuse. What does your weekly mowing service include?

R&S Landscaping is a full-service lawn and landscape company. Our lawn care maintenance service includes mowing, line trimming, edging, and finally blowing off all hard surfaces. Weekly lawn cutting is available from April to Oct. 15th. Bed maintenance is also available.

Are trimming and edging included in your base rate?

Yes, the quote we provide to mow your lawn includes trimming grass edges and sidewalk edging, unless you specify otherwise.  Shrub trimming is billed by the hour and not included in weekly service.

When will I be billed?

We invoice our clients at the end of the month for our weekly/monthly recurring services, unless otherwise specified. Landscaping and all other services are invoiced on completion of the project.

Do I have to sign a season long service agreement?

For residential maintenance services customers, we do require signed agreement to avoid any miscommunication.  If you are unhappy wit the service you may cancel with 14 days written notice.

How will I be invoiced?

In most cases, we do complete an onsite assessment of your property regarding the services you are requesting.

Do I have to be present for your FREE estimate at my home?

You do not need to be present when we conduct our onsite property assessment. However, if you have questions or would like to get a feel for who we are and what we are about, we would love to meet you. Questions are always best answered on - site. Please leave your gate unlocked if you will not be at home.

Is the service agreement binding?

No, the service agreement you sign can be terminated at any time in writing with 14 day notice. If you feel you can no longer continue due to budget concerns, etc., please let us know through email and provide a description as to why and the requested date of termination. From there we can make sure to remove you from receiving any more services.

What is the average cost for a weekly lawn service visit ?

Is your company insured?

Yes, we are FULLY insured with workmen's compensation and liability coverage. It is NOT a good idea to hire an uninsured person to care for your lawn. They can’t be held liable for damages. Tip: anytime you hire a landscape company, ask for a certificate of insurance.

Can I request a service on a specific day?

Yes, you can always request a specific day. However, at R&S Landscaping, many times we have our routes meticulously planned, so we won't be able to guarantee that service on your requested day will be available. We will do our best to accommodate your request.  We mow lawns Monday through Friday, but with the ever - changing New Jersey weather, this is liable to change. What if it is raining on my service day?

If wet conditions don’t allow us to perform service on your scheduled day your property will be serviced the next day, weather permitting.

How do I cancel my service?

If you need to cancel. we require 14 day written notice   If you are cancelling because you are not satisfied with your service, please reach out to us immediately. What is your policy regarding pets?

The safety of your pets is important to us. Because of this, we recommend that all your pets are kept indoors and all gates unlocked on your mow day. Our crews are very careful about closing gates before they leave, but we do not guarantee that a pet will not escape from the yard, therefore, you are accepting our service with this provision.

Do you mow on Holidays?

At R&S Landscaping we understand that having your property serviced before a holiday is a priority. When a holiday falls during your scheduled service day we add teams to insure all properties are serviced.  However, if we have had any significant weather delays in our scheduling, we may need to use a holiday to get caught up.

Can I reschedule my service?

Please notify us at least a min of 48 hours hours in advance if you need us to skip or reschedule your lawn maintenance service.

Please email our office at service@rscape.com to notify us you would like to skip. This gives us time to adjust our crew schedules.

Can I request a lawn service on a specific day?

Yes, you can make a special request for service on a specific day and we will do our best to fit your service visit in our route. Clients request a special day when they are having a party or event.  However, we can't guarantee weekly service on requested day will be available. We currently provide service Monday through Friday.  As you are probably aware, weather in New Jersey can change at a moment's notice. If there is inclement weather, your scheduled visit will be delayed until the next cutting day when the weather has cleared up.

Our crew members work on a scheduled route so they might not be able to go back that same day to address the concern, but we will make sure the issue gets attention.

How many employees do you have and how many of them will be working on my job?

Our typical crews range from 2 to 3 crew members. The number of employees working on your job will depend on the size of the lawn or project.

Do I need both Aeration and Slit Seeding?

We get the best results when both core aeration and slit seeding performed in the fall together. The reason is because the aeration is performed first and opens up the soil by removing cores. Then the slit seeding machine passes over the soil cores and seeds drop into the holes while soil is filled in from the pulverized soil cores.
