What would you do to avoid hitting my trees with your equipment?

At R&S Landscaping, we aim to take the utmost care with any and all baby trees, plants or shrubbery that you have taken the time to plant in your yard.  We recommend placing a small mulch bed around the base of any new tree - especially small ones that are newly planted. This will help us to avoid the need to trim or edge the grass around them, because there will be no grass there, only mulch. Is there anything we should do to prepare our yard for lawn mowing?

In order to help us do the best job we possibly can for you, we ask that you please pick up all pet waste and children's toys from the mowing area. However, if you are not home or able to pick up pet waste, we offer that service and can quote you on it over the phone prior to your service day. We also ask that you keep children and pets inside your home during the service completion.

Can I water my lawn the day you mow?

In almost all cases, clients have a scheduled service day each week. On these days, we ask that you do not water your lawn, as wet grass makes mowing more difficult and messy. If this is something you can't accommodate, please call our office to discuss options.

What happens if my yard has debris and lawn items on mowing day?

When it comes to larger items in your lawn, such as trampolines, playhouses and lawn furniture, we are able to trim around. We will not need to move these items, but we do appreciate when clients define a border around these object to prevent any accidental damage to your things.  We ask that on your service day all small items and pet waste be removed from your lawn. What else can I do to make sure my property will not be damaged?

At R&S Landscaping, we try and take the utmost care with your property and items in your lawn. However, with some things it is not possible to completely avoid hitting them. What is the cost to cut an average lawn?

We are proud to offer some of the most competitive rates in Bergen County, with the average mow typically costing between $25 and $50. If you have an oversized lawn and want to get a more accurate quote, we offer free estimates prior to service.

Are trimming and edging included in your base rate?

Any quote we give you for mowing service always includes trimming and edging. However, if you inform us that you don't need trimming and edging it could change your price. Additionally, please ask if there are other lawn services you would like us to provide while we are mowing your lawn. We are happy to accommodate certain requests when possible.

When will I be billed?

If you are a lawn care customer, you will be billed at the end of the month for your mowing service, unless other arrangements have been made. For landscaping and all other services, you will receive a bill when the project is completed.

Do I have to sign a season long contract or service agreement?

For residential customers, we do not require contracts and we handle all mowing week to week. For commercial properties, a contract may be required.

Do you offer discounts if I am on a fixed income?

We are happy to offer discounts for senior citizens and for referrals. Please spread the word about our business - a good review to a friend is the best form of advertising!

How will I be invoiced?

You will always have an invoice sent to your email upon the completion of services, but we require you to keep a credit card or debit card on file with our office. Your form of payment will be charged once your services are completed.

Can I pay with cash or check and give it to the workers while they are here?

Unfortunately this is not an option. Our crew members on site do not accept any form of payment. In order to streamline the payment process, the credit card or debit card on file will be charged upon completion of services.

How do I find my account balance, invoice or payment information?

To view your account balance, your past invoices and your payment information, please visit the client portal or call the R&S Landscaping office and we would be happy to assist you any way we can.

Do you have to visit my home to do an estimate?

At R&S Landscaping, we typically do need to complete an onsite assessment of your property to give you an accurate estimate for the services you desire.

Do I have to be present for your FREE estimate at my home?

At R&S Landscaping, we are able to complete our FREE onsite assessment without you being present. If you have additional questions or would like to become more familiar with us before we render services, we recommend you be home so you can meet us in person. We always love to meet potential customers! 

If you are unable to be home for the FREE estimate, please ensure your gate is unlocked so we can access the area where you need services.

Is your company insured?

At R&S Landscaping, we are FULLY insured. Whether you hire us for your services or not, it is never a good idea to hire a company or a person who is not insured. If they don't hold insurance, they can't be held liable for any damaged incurred on your property.

Can I request a service on a specific day?

Yes, you can always request a specific day. However, at R&S Landscaping, many times we have our routes meticulously planned, so we won't be able to guarantee that service on your requested day will be available. We will do our best to accommodate your request.  We mow lawns Monday through Friday, but with the ever - changing New Jersey weather, this is liable to change. What if it is raining on my service day?

A little rain never hurt! But a lot of rain does make it difficult to mow. R&S Landscaping will not skip your property because of a little rain. However a lot of rain can cause problems. If we have experienced more than two (2) continuous days of rain, we will have to skip your mow for that week. You will then be put back into our rotation and serviced as scheduled the following week.

How many employees will be working on my job?

For a regular sized lawn, our typical crew ranges from 2 to 4 crew members. However, at R&S Landscaping we want to set you, and our employees, up for success. So ultimately, the number of employees we send out will depend on the size of your lawn or project. We will likely determine this number at your free estimate.

How do I cancel my service?

When you are a customer of R&S Landscaping, we put you on our schedule from season to season unless you tell us otherwise. If you need to cancel. we require notice at least 48 hours before your scheduled day of service. You will then receive a confirmation email letting you know your cancellation is being processed.  If you are cancelling because you are not satisfied with your service, please reach out to us immediately. What is your policy regarding pets?

R&S Landscaping cares about your furry friends. This is why we recommend that all pets be brought inside are are kept there until after our crews have left your home. We take the utmost care in remembering to close gates when we leave, but we can't guarantee your pets will not escape from the yard. 

With this in mind, by hiring R&S Landscaping, you are accepting our service with provision. R&S Landscaping is not responsible for lost or injured pets.

Do you mow on Holidays?

At R&S Landscaping, we want our employees to be taken care of, as well as our customers. It is important to us that our employees are able to spend time with their families. For this reason, we try to observe most federal holidays. However, if we are already behind due to weather delays, we will use a holiday to get caught up when possible.

Can I reschedule my service?

If you need to skip or reschedule your lawn maintenance service, we require at least 24 hours of advanced notice. You may call or email our office to let us know that you need to skip your service. This way, we can adjust our crews and schedules accordingly. We allow three (3) skipped services per season.
